Good Afternoon!
Today's topic is education, I'll take this and I'll centered at the contemporary educational system (in Chile, or countries that have a strong liberal politics).
In first place, we can find the access. The access's a big problem in these systems because it's limited, for access to the education, the family or tutors must have a base of some kinds of capital (like cultural, economic or social). My personal's interpretation is that the school or university (or any educational institution) brings the student a 'status', this status is -also- a kind of capital (the symbolic capital). The people in countries like Chile wants to study only for gain more and more capital.
Secondly, the primary education (schools). The problem that I see is the mentality of order, in this mentality there're roles which consist in domineering and dominated, the teachers are domineering and their actions are always centered to keep their students ordered and controled. This is a problem for me because the differences will come only in the professions (in function to the liberal economic system), and -in my opinion- the differences are important in childrens between 5-15 years old because they allow have a social vision of tolerance and respect (and this could eliminate the ideas of classism or any kind of social discrimination). For example, if there are a boy that wants study something not convencional, their classmate will not judge him. Also, I propose eliminate the schools that aren't mixed.
Finally, the last problem are the conception of power in education, in my opinion the power roles in education must disappear. If the power doesn't exist in education, so the participants of the educational system could take actions based on the opinion of all (my perception of democracy in the educational system).
Those are some of my ideas about education. I would like to read some judges or contributions.
It's all :)
I am really agree, the access to the education in our days is really concerning and difficult for many people. In many cases cause the money..
ResponderEliminarI think that acces is one of the most important issues in education and it is one of the challenges of the student social movement.
